First Week of Great and Holy Lent 2025
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Theophany Orthodox Church,
For several years, we have conducted a Christmas Outreach Program to provide material and financial assistance to families with children in our area.
In that same spirit, this year we have joined the 5th annual National Orthodox Baby Shower supported by Orthodox Christians for Life.
Remembering the Feast of the Annunciation of Christ, which illuminates Great Lent, please join us in supporting women facing difficult pregnancies by donating baby items to the New Day Women's Clinic in Delavan, WI.
· Baby items can include diapers (esp size 4-7), sensitive or fragrance free wipes, outfits or clothing items ( size NB-5T ), baby socks/shoes/ formula, etc. Homemade items (except for food products) may also be donated.
o Other items can include:
§ Onesies, socks, bibs, burp cloths, sheets,
§ Big items like new cribs, highchairs, swings, and car seats, and pack-n-play are a blessing as well
§ Baby playmats, bathtubs, towels, bath toys are also welcome items.
· We have set up a collection space in the Parish Hall for you to donate items for this project. You are also most welcome to make donations which will be used to purchase items.
· We have a donation basket in the Parish Hall. You can make a donation in the church. Make sure to mark any checks or cash donations for NOBS (National Orthodox Baby Shower). We will also open a National Orthodox Baby Shower "campaign" on our online donation page on our website(https://holytheophanychurch.org/).
· The donation period will be open through Palm Sunday, April 13. At some point after that, our contributions will be delivered to the Parish Resources Center.
· Please join us in this venture. It is a wonderful way to reflect the Theotokos’ love to receive and bear a new child and also Christ’s love for children.
· If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Maria Klesmith at mklesmith@outlook.com or 262-903-8949.
On behalf of the Mission Council and Fr George, I cordially invite you to join us in this outreach.
May Christ be with you during Great Lent.
In Christ,
Fr John
